Crawling out of my cave...
Oh, thank you all who are still frequenting this lonely, whiny blog...I'm sorry that I haven't been a very good blogging buddy lately. I am here, and I read my usual blogs often. I just haven't had the time to comment--mainly because I now read your blogs from my iPaq on our wireless networking. I love the iPaq, and I love that I can read your blogs at anytime, anywhere, but commenting is near impossible with the little pointer thingy. But just about everynight, I read up on your lives before I fall asleep.
Things are still very busy here. Currently, we have both sets of parents staying with us. The Baptism is this weekend, on Fathers' Day, actually. We are having a bar-b-que after the ceremony, and I think that it will be fun. My in-laws won't be happy about the casual setting, the food, or the lack of schmaltzy party favors, but it will be fun.
My little girl is getting baptized, and I'm excited about that. It will really be a special day.
For those who've read about the big-blanket-controversy with my in-laws, we solved it so that everybody will be happy. Maura will actually be immersed for her baptism. So she will wear her gown (my family gown) before and after the actual baptism. Before she gets baptized, she'll use one blanket, after, she'll use the other. And the whole time, she'll be wearing all of the little gold baby jewelry that the in-laws have given her. So everybody's happy. I don't know if they've worn me down, but I'm just not up for fighting it. The important thing is the baptism itself. My angels are up there watching over us no matter what. And I've made my point about my blanket.
An update on the in-law-house-building situation: They are moving here, but they will not be moving in with us. Whew! Somebody came to their senses and realized what a huge mistake that would be.
My MIL has gotten hearing aids! This is such good news! Now if we can talk her into continuing to wear them!! She apparently had moderate/sever hearing loss in both ears. This really surprised no one but her. She yells all the time, and you have to yell at her so that she can hear you. Anyway, she's got the hearing aids in, and she's no longer yelling!! This means that Maura is no longer afraid of her Nonna, and everyone is a little happier. Yay for medical miracles!!
Well, that's the quick update for now. Everybody just walked in the door from their respective shopping excursions, it's getting close to dinnertime for the grown-ups, and Maura's going to need to be fed again soon, too.
I'll be back next week for further updates...Happy Fathers' Day to all the dad's out there!

I was wondering why there weren't pictures of Maura's baptism!
By the way, Liam and I looked at the June photos the other day and she is simply beautiful and has amazing eyes.
The blanket compromise sounds good and I'm so glad to hear they won't be moving in with you.
Can't wait for an update about her baptism next week.
You guys are always in my prayers. God bless you and I hope that this weekend goes smoothly for you.
What a great update!!! I am so glad things are improving in your world :)
I'm so glad you've found a solution to the baptism blanket problem and it sounds like a great one! I can't wait to see photos!!!
