We're home!

I will be back with the birth story, but for now I will leave you with pictures.

I am completely hormonal and overwhelmed right now, but also very much in love with my new family.

Breastfeeding is not going very smoothly, and I've resorted to bottlefeeding until we can get some professional help. I going to start pumping today as my milk seems to be coming in. I welcome any advice!

And it's true what they say, having a baby will make you fall in love with your husband all over again.

Christine and Paul, Maura is absolutely beautiful!! I'm so happy for the two of you. Christine don't give up on the Breastfeeding yet, I've heard the first two weeks are a bear. Hand in there, you'll get the hang of it.

Congratulations. Isn't this an amazing, special time?
I've been lurking for a while and just wanted to offer any advice I can about the breastfeeding. Feel free to email me or let me know what specifically you need help with.

Everything you've said is what I have heard is completely normal. So try not to get too upset about it!

What a cutie!!! And congrats again!

Sounds like you are a totally normal post-partum Mommy. As to the breastfeeding, do hang in there and know that 6 weeks is about right for it all to work naturally. I mentioned it before, but will again, a good breastfeeding pillow is your best asset (I highly recommend My Breast Friend). Maura is concentrating all of her energy on getting to that food, the pillow will help you with support which in turn will help with a good and proper latch. Lactation consultants are a fabulous source, I felt ashamed to ask for help with something that should have been so "natural." Don't! Ask for help, that's why they're there!!! And know that no matter what the outcome, you know your situation best. Best wishes! :)

Christine! She's beautiful! Big congratulations to you and Paul. You two made a beautiful baby! The first week is overwhelming...entirely normal. True that you fall in love with your husband all over again!
I said a prayer for you yesterday about breastfeeding, hoping that you weren't having a problem. Its so awful when it doesn't go smoothly. I hope and pray that she gets it and that you're able to breastfeed. I had horrible guilt,as you know...and thankfully, Jen helped me to get through that.
I am, so, so, so happy and thankful that you are finally home with your own baby. You are going to be an awesome mother and you're going to love it!
Much love and blessings to you. Here's to our new road!

OMG OMG OMG! You're home! Maura is sooooo beautiful, and I'm getting all emotional myself. I've been dying to call you the last couple of days, but knew you were likely feeling exhausted and overwhelmed, so wanted to give you some space. I've been thinking about you tons, though, and was so excited to see these photos. Hang in there with everything, and know that I'm here if you need anything (wish I could offer b/f advice, but instead I'll have to be getting some from you in a few months)!

Lots of love and ((((hugs))))!!

Christine,

Maura is so beautiful. You and Paul make adorable babies together! Sorry the BF isn't going as well as hoped but I'm sure it will get better. I've got no helpful hints other than hang in there. It will come with time.
