Ahhh...Now that's better...
Dh and Maura did much better with the bottle this evening. We're going to have him give her a bottle every evening when he gets home from work. That way she'll get used to the bottle without being too tired, and he'll get to have to some time with her. Tonight, she didn't get fussy, and I think that they both enjoyed the experience mush more.
I talked to dh last night about being able to calm her. She did get fussy later this evening, and he took care of her. She fell asleep in his arms. Ahh....I feel much better, as, I think, do they! Dh's confidence was boosted a little as she melted into his arms. And I stayed calm. I'm very proud of all of us (mostly him--he had the hard part!!)
So we're getting there...baby steps...
We're hiring a babysitter for next weekend. YIKES! I still feel like I'm the babysitter! It's all so surreal! Anyway, we're going to a surprise party, so we need a babysitter. I'm going to "pump-n-dump" so that I can have a couple of glasses of wine (or whatever they're serving!!). I may need the drinks to just remain calm after leaving Maura!! Any advice out there for me? How do I leave my daughter for the first time without completely losing it?? Is it possible to still enjoy my evening?? Oh, and the babysitter comes VERY well recommended. I have no doubt that she is as great as everyone says she is. A very sought after babysitter among the other physicians in my dh's practice!

Christine - There are no easy tricks to leaving your little one the 1st time. For me I cried I remember & I did call just for my peace of mind (and the 1st babysitter was Grandma!)and explained it wasn't that I was uncomfortable with them & their care it was me. So...Bring the make-up bag along so you can do some touch ups!

The first time is tough. Bring the phone so you can call and check in and call as much as you need to. Once you get to the party and start enjoying yourself it will be easier. The hardest part is driving away. But when you get to the party you get to gush about all of the wonderful things that Maura does and how beautiful and perfect she is, so that makes it easier.
Damn, I'm all teary just THINKING about leaving her for the first time (Maura or Bella). :) I'm sure it will go smoothly, though, and I'm so glad you have such a highly recommended babysitter! Enjoy those glasses of wine...and YAY for DH and Maura!! (((big hugs)))
Hi Christine
My name is Patience and I followed the comment section on Mia/Yvette's blog to find you.
I spoke to Jake about creating another blog. I understand his apprehention about giving out a password. However there are more ways to do this! I have created an entirely NEW blog. This is not one that Mia or Jake would post to....
http://WeLoveMia.blogspot.com/
This is a blog for all her friends to put together her old blog and to give her a new one... showing how much we love her.
Letting Jake know that he does not have to do this on his own.
Please feel free to comment make contributions, and suggestions.
I would love to be able to do this for the both of them to let them know that as friends would are here for them.
Thanks...
Patience K.
(Yes its the same exact comment I left everyone - Lets hear it for cut and paste!)
