Boy or Girl??

I bought this silly little book, Boy or Girl: 50 Ways to Find Out, by Shirley Lavigne a while back. It has all kinds of gender prediction tests listed in it. I thought that it might be fun to perform some of these, and see what happens. So here goes:

1. This old German tale checks not whether you are the fairest mother of all, but what your eyes say. Stare into the mirror for at least one minute, but not more than three. Mom, do your eyes dilate? If yes Boy. They don't? A girl.

Result: Boy

2. Pull your lower eyelids down and look at the whites of your eyes. Do you see a broken blood vessel in the shape of a "V"? If that "V" is in the lower half of your right eye, count on a boy. There's a girl coming if the "V"-shaped broken blood vessel is in your left eye.

Result: No broken blood vessels shaped like a "V". I'll have to check this one again at a later date.

3. Stay at the mirror and comb your hair for a bit. Is your hair getting thinner and stringier with each day of pregnancy? If it is, you are pregnant with a girl child. Swedish folklore says so. Or is your hair becoming more shiny and full-bodied? If so, the Swedes say it's a boy.

Result: Boy

4. If your leg hair is growing faster now, a boy is on the way. If your hair growth, legwise, is the same as before your pregnancy, you should be getting ready for a girl.

Result: Girl

5. French tale tellers look at Mom's legs for their clue. It's true that legs can put on weight during a pregnancy. Are you legs beginning to resemble "tree trunks?" A sure sign of a boy. If your legs are just as trim as they were before you became pregnant, look for a girl at delivery time.

Result: Girl

Well, that's all for now...yup, I'm leaving you with a cliff-hanger. The score currently sits at Boy--2, Girl--2.

These are pretty scientific, huh??!!

Toni will say its a girl ;)
I'm going to say I think its a girl, too. Everyone around me seems to be having boys.
I cannot wait! I'm glad one of all of us is having a suprise (well Stephanie is too so far). I couldn't do it m'self, but I'm really enjoying the suspense for you!

Hmmmm...pretty scientific, huh? haha!
Actually, I didn't do the eye ones, but the hair things...both correct for me.
The LEGS were stating a girl until the end here, but now a boy due to water retention...
So, it was right for me!
I'm STILL thinking boy for you!! :)

I'm not even going to guess because I don't think I've been right once! That's sounds like such a cute little book though. It seems to me that you still have 45 more things to try in order to give your best scientific prediction. :)

Geez, I need to get a hold of that book considering Brian's new policy! LOL!

I love old wives' tales and how contradictory they are. I need to know your secret to not bursting at the seams to find out since Brian won't let me now. :)

I am voting boy. What crazy ways of guessing the sex of your baby.

Sorry to hear about your DH's needle stick. I used to do the testing at our hospital for exposures and have yet to see someone seroconvert from an exposure. It sounds like your DH's exposure was very minimal.
