Names and Ultrasounds

So, dh and I snuck into the hospital again yesterday. Ok, we didn't sneak, we just walked in, but sneaking makes it sounds much more exciting!! Anyway, Charm was sleeping again, all balled up on one side of my uterus in some sort of baby-yoga posture. His/her feet and hands were up next to his/her head. At one point, it looked as if Charm was rubbing his/her ear, which is exactly what dh does when he's sleepy. So cute! He/she is already taking after his/her daddy!!

I can't believe that tomorrow I will will eighteen weeks along!! That's nearly halfway there!! And, of course, I've done nothing to prepare yet. I guess that's the procrastinator in me. But I have time, and honestly, I don't want to buy stuff that I just have to move to PA anyway. So, aside from a couple of little things, I probably won't buy anything until after we move.

I'm going to try to get a new belly shot up in the next couple of days. I just realized that it's been four weeks since I first posted one! Ok, actually, my mother has been nagging me to take another. But I'll post one here, too!!

So Dh and I came up with names before we ever got pregnant the first time, and we're sticking with those names. We both like old family names that give our child a link to their past. In the Italian tradition, the first by is named after the paternal grandfather. So we will give our son the American version of Nonno's name, Peter. And after my father and many men in my family, his middle name will be Joseph. Peter Joseph, but we'll call him P.J., which also happen to be my father's initials. If we have a daughter, she will be named after my sister, who was named after my parents, Mary and Patrick. But we wanted to add dh's mother (Laura) in there, too, so the first name will be Maura. Maura Patricia. No, we will not call her M.P.

I can't wait to meet him or her!!

Great names!!! Glad everything looks well! Who knew when we named Chip that we were going by the Italian tradition ? Chip was named after DH's dad and DH. This baby whether boy or girl will be named after my dad.

I love your new belly pic! Adorable! And the names you have picked out are great, my brother is Patrick John - and was named after my father so we have always called him P.J. - Maura is really pretty and unique!

I also like the new look of Your House!
