Happy Monday! 14 weeks, 1 day
Good morning, everyone in blogger world!
First, I want to thank you for sharing your stories and memories of September 11, 2001. I was touched to read them. For those of you who haven't posted and would like to, go here.
Second, I can't believe that picture I posted this weekend! That belly popped out overnight! Thank you for your comments, there, too! However, I think that the glow that you see is the massive amount of oil that my skin seems to produce on a daily basis! I was SO self-conscious taking that picture. I guess that I'll get used to this, though, huh?
This weekend, we went to the Waterfires in Providence, RI. So cool. We had a great time. For those that aren't familiar, Waterfires is a sort of carnival at night. They build bonfires ins the rivers throughout the city, and they play music that was perfect for the setting. Some people ride on the water in gondolas, most of us walked on the cobblestone paths along the water. Standing on a bridge over the water, you can see a line of bonfires stretched far beyond you. Anyway, there are street performers, and vendors of all kinds (I got kettle corn! Yum!!). The weather was beautiful, and the walk was romantic and peaceful. Great people watching, too!! So, if you live anywhere near Providence, RI, and you haven't been, I highly recommend that you check it out! I googled it to find the upcoming schedule (hurry, there's only one left!!).
I can't believe that I'm 14 weeks already. On one hand, I feel like it was just yesterday that I got that BFP. On the other hand, I feel like I've been pregnant forever! I'm feeling pretty good. I only get headaches every couple of days, and the caffeine seems to help. I'm starting to gain a little weight. I feel like I'm on my way! I'm looking forward to the day when I look pregnant to everyone, not just people who knew what I looked like before. I think that right now I just look chubby to strangers.
We did another ultrasound this weekend. We are seeing bones form at a rapid speed. No wonder my big craving has been milk! We could see the spinous processes of the vertebrae, and little iliac (pelvis) bones. My dh was able to pick out the stomach and kidneys. It is amazing that this little one is moving around so much, and yet I don't feel a thing! He/she was kicking and waving it's arms like crazy!
I think that we're going to stay away from the ultrasound for a few weeks. I think that we might be getting carried away! But it's just so fun to be able to take a peek in there and see how he/she's doing!!
