15 weeks, 3 days and an appointment

I had an appointment this morning. It wasn't anything exciting. The did the usual, I guess (still getting used to what "the usual" is), vitals, measurements, listened to the heartbeat via Doppler. I love that Doppler. All is going well. According to the scale (which must be lying), I've gained 4 pounds!! My scale tells me only 2 pounds. But either way, I guess I have to get used to those numbers going up, huh?

I'm feeling well. I have occasional migraines which are usually taken care of with Tylenol and caffeine. I'm feeling baby moving everyday. I think he/she must have been dancing ALL day yesterday! I'm not craving things quite as much as I was, but chocolate milk is still a big one.

I go in next week to have blood drawn for the Quad Screen. I'm a little nervous about this test as it is not conclusive, but I agree that it is an important first step towards finding out if something is wrong. I've read some blogs lately that address the controversy of this test, so I don't want to start a huge heated discussion here. This was my decision that I made based on public information as well as my personal history. So, if it bothers you, tough.

Ok, I don't want to get on too much of a soapbox on that subject, so I'll shut up about it.

Quick congrats to Crista, Katie, Patty and Michelle. You are all in my prayers for a wonderful and UNEVENTFUL nine months ahead!

Christine! Your pregnancy is going so fast for me! It seems like I just saw your post about BFP! I'm so glad that you had a "boring" appointment. May they all be uneventful! I agree with how you feel about the quad screen. I'm still waiting for the results of mine.
So glad RLC is growing and moving!

Let's hear it for the usual! :)

I realized today that I'll be reaching that second trimester goal just when you're hitting the half-way mark. Woo-hoo!

So glad all is well, and thanks for the congrats!

Congrats on a great appointment today! Anything normal is wonderful in a pregnancy!! Try not to stress too much about the Quad screening...as I'm sure you already know, there are a lot of false positives with these tests. It doesn't mean anything. I am ashamed to admit it, but the only reason why I even considered the Quad screening when I was pg was because if it came back red flagged, then I would have gotten a 3D u/s (normally, the practice I was going to only would do 1 u/s at 20 weeks to figure out the gender). But I still think it's important to prepare yourself. Good luck! ((hugs))

Glad the appt. went well. Best wishes for the Quad Screen. Just remember try not to stress because it really does have a high rate of false positives.

Christine - It must be relief to have an "usual" appt. Yeah on feeling that little one "dancing" My sister played music & talked to her baby & it would always respond with happy movements. I can't wait to be able to feel that again.

Christine,
Congrats on the uneventful appointment. Sounds like you had the "standard" checkup. I think the doctors scale is ALWAYS a little heavier *wink*wink* I think the quad screen is a good thing. We had an amnio with Jake and it worked out fine. But now that my friend had the leaking sac and 2 1/2 months in the hospital I am a little fearful of going that route again. CVS is not without risks either. Argh! What to do??? I can't believe you are feeling your little one already. I have had two and I don't usually "feel" definate movement until like 18 or 19 weeks. The first movements feel so much like gas and I have had a lot of that, lol.
