Signs, Superpowers, and Sistas

Is it just people who go through desperate times that look for signs? Or maybe because we've lost children, we feel closer to something outside ourselves, outside our world? I don't know exactly why or how, but so many of us in the TTC/miscarriage/pregnant world search out signs.

I've been praying for signs since I got my BFP that this pregnancy is going to work. I thought that morning sickness was a good sign. I seem to discount all of the other symptoms, because I had them with my other two pregnancies that were not successful. But the morning sickness is a big one for me.

But I'm a skeptic. I see a sign, and I write it off. Is it truly a sign, or do I want a sign so badly that I'm creating one?? I don't trust myself.

I got another sign yesterday. This was unmistakable. It displayed exactly the sense of humor that I'd expect God to have, and He put it in a place that I wouldn't miss. I opened up a Dove Dark Chocolate Promises candy. If you don't know, these yummy treats have little fortunes on the inside of the wrapper. They are usually pretty cheesy, like, "hug someone that you love today." Cheesy, right? Mine said, "Celebrate the child in you." Ok, God, I got it. Thanks.

I have superpowers thanks to my new Wonder Woman wrist bands. Ok, ok, they are really just Sea-bands, but they have magically removed my need to puke on a daily basis. I'll take what I can get.

I'm meeting a Sista today. I'm very excited and nervous. Crista and I have been on this journey together for a few months. This whole time, we've lived within an hour or so of each other, but we've never met. Today, we are meeting for lunch. I can't wait! I'll fill you in on the details later!
