Shhh...We're very sneaky!

We went in to Paul's hospital for an ultrasound today. I just couldn't make it until the 25th before knowing that this pregnancy is still working. Ok, maybe I could have made it, but why bother? I married a Radiologist, I'm going to make full use of my priviledges!

You could tell that we were both pretty nervous about what we might see. The ride there was a quiet one. We were just so afraid of what we might or might not see on that screen. We walked straight to the u/s room. We didn't stop to say hello to anyone.

My bladder wasn't full, so the picture was fuzzier than usual, according to Paul. But we got the picture right away. There was a little big headed, fuzzy blob with that flickering little heart. How cool. I've never gotten to the point in a pregnancy where we could see anything with the abdominal probe, so this is an accomplishment! We listened to the heartbeat, and counted it near 180 bpm. Paul couldn't figure out how to use the thing on the machine to measure the heartrate (this is why techs do the real ultrasounds!), but we counted the heartrate high enough that I was satisfied!

You could tell afterward that we were both pretty nervous. The ride to lunch was a quiet one. This pregnancy might actually result in a baby. Holy shit, we might be parents after all! I think that we've been focusing so much on the pregnancy aspect of this journey since that has been the biggest challenge so far. We forgot about the parenthood part!

YAY!!!! You sneak. I'm *so* jealous. Space guys can't probe their wives (well, at least I wouldn't trust him to!) I'm soooo happy for you.
How's the move planning?

Yeaaaa! I'm so happy you still saw that little heart beating. Definitely no harm in taking advantage of your connections like that.

You ARE going to end up with a baby in about 7 months. You better start thinking about that! :)
