I'm home

It feels so good to be home. I missed my bed and my pillows. It's so funny. We have a king sized bed, which, upon purchasing, we thought HUGE. However, now it's just right. We aren't any bigger, I guess we're just used to spreading out more. So on our trip, we stayed with family who only have queen size beds in their guest rooms. We felt so cramped! We kept running into each other at night. We have gotten so spoiled!! So the one thing that we were really looking forward to was returning to our king sized bed.

We may have found a house! We found one that we both really liked. We will be going back in a couple of weeks (and staying in a queen bed again!), and bringing dh's parents for a look. It will be great to get their expert opinion. Anyway, we are prepared to make an offer at that time. I hope it works out, it's a great house!

Dh's parents have decided to move near us once we've moved. This is not unexpected, but will be interesting. My in-laws are from Italy, Sicily to be exact. In that culture, you live as close to your family as possible. Anyway, FIL said that he likes living in NY (where they are now), but he'd much rather be near us where he can "enjoy his grandchildren." Why do I have the feeling that they are going to be over every day??? My description of the family that I married into: They are a cross between "Everybody Loves Raymond" and "My Big Fat Greek Wedding." Except that they don't speak a lot of English. Oh well, at least the food is good.

Oh, and here's something new I learned! My MIL kept telling me that I have to try every type of food while I'm pregnant, even if I'm sick or I don't like the food. Apparently, there is an old wives tale in the Italian culture, that says that if you eat too much of any one thing while pregnant, you're baby will be marked. So, if you eat, lets' say strawberries all the time, your baby will be born with a red birthmark, or if you drink too much coffee, a brown one, etc. They swear this to be the truth. My dh (a doctor) couldn't even convince them otherwise. So I have to eat everything when I'm there. And even though much of their food is delicious, some is just strange.

It's good to be home, though. And I can't believe that ticker above. 12 weeks? Holy cow!

Oy! You can't come visit us or you'll be forced to sleep on the couch! Isn't that sad! We have NO guest bed!
Sorry your stay was so cramped...I'd give anything for a king sized bed. We will be getting that when the time comes for a new mattress!
Let me tell you, my inlaws live about 6 blocks away, and my parents 2-3 miles.
Its not bad! In fact, its great to have built in babysitters who would watch your child at a drop of a hat!!
You'll love it!
Can't wait to read more about the house and moving!
Oh, 12.2 weeks! YAY!
