The doctor asked a question that impressed me...

I'm going to be posting for a while about this appointment, I'm sure, as it all sinks in. It really was information overload. I'm sure glad that dh was there to hear everything, too, or I'd never remember it all!

Anyway, at one point, the RE asked about why I had two different forms of completely the miscarriage. (Refresher--I chose to have a D&C with the first m/c, and I induced with the second using misoprostal) So he asked if it had been my choice or the OB's recommendation, and I told him that it was my choice because I didn't want to risk scarring after multiple D&C's.

He then went on to ask me for my impressions of each experience. He said, "If you were to recommend one method over another, what would it be?" I was impressed that he was interested in finding out about the experience of miscarrying, emotionally and physically, so that he can better assist his patients in their decision making. I got the impression that he treats his patients as whole people with value and not just fertility cases.
